Fee Waivers

The college claims funding from the Young Peoples Learning Agency (YPLA) and Skills Funding Agency (SFA) for many courses.

The YPLA and SFA would expect us to charge you a tuition fee unless you qualify for free tuition.

The YPLA and SFA has a number of categories of 'Fee Waivers' (free tuition). Your eligibility is determined based on your age, current education level and the type of course.

When you have found a course you are interested in try the 'Find out more' option under 'How much do I pay'. This will then work out if you qualify for free tuition. Please note: There may be an additional materials or examination fee for your course.

Fee Waiver	Description
Skills for life	This fee waiver is available to anyone enrolling on a 'Skills for Life' course excluding ESOL (English Second or Other Language).
16-18	This fee waiver is available to anyone aged 16-18 when they first enrol on their course.
Income based benefits	This fee waiver is available to anyone claiming a valid income based benefit. Valid income based benefits are: Council Tax Benefit on Low Income Housing Benefit Income Support Jobseekers Allowance Pension Guarantee Credit Unwaged Dependant Working Tax Credit (Based on your Household Income) Income based Employment & Support Allowance Asylum Seeker in receipt of the equivalent of an income based benefit
FL2 (First Full Level 2)	This fee waiver is available to anyone enrolling aged 19+ on a 'Full Level 2' course and their highest level of qualification currently held is below 'Full Level 2'.
FL3 (First Full Level 3)	This fee waiver is available to anyone aged 19-24 enrolling on a 'Full Level 3' course and their highest level of qualification currently held is below 'Full Level 3'.
FLJ (Full Level Jumper)	This fee waiver is available to anyone aged 25+ enrolling on a 'Full Level 3' course and their highest level of qualification currently held is below 'Full Level 2'.
